Die Sony Konferenz brachte wie erwartet auch die erhofften Details zur Next Generation Portable. Und die gibt es ab heute nicht mehr. Die Namensspekulationen der letzten Tage haben sich bestätigt, Sony hat den neuen Handheld PlayStation Vita getauft. Auf der E3 Pressekonferenz stellte man ein Line-Up, Releasedatum, Preis und einiges mehr vor.
Die PS Vita wird in zwei Modellen erscheinen. Das Wi-Fi Modell kostet 249 Euro. Das 3G/Wi-Fi Modell wird 299 Euro kosten. Einen konkreten Releaseetermin gibt es nicht, aber die PS Vita soll immer noch „Ende 2011“ erscheinen. Das Wort „Vita“ heißt „Leben“ auf Latein, wie Sony auf der Konferenz sagt. Man hoffe, mit der PS Vita Teil des täglichen Lebens von Fans zu werden.
Sony kündigte etliche First-Party Titel wie Gravity Daze, Uncharted Golden Abyss, Little Deviants, Hot Shots Golf, Reality Fighter, Hustle Kings, ModNation Racers, Wipeout 2048 und Super Stardust Delta an. Außerdem wird Sony von über 150 Third Parties unterstützt. Eine Liste der Hersteller findet ihr hier. Capcom kündigte zudem eine Street Fighter X Tekken Version für die PS Vita an.
In einem ersten etwa vier Minuten langen Vita-Trailer werden außerdem erste Third-Party Titel wie Shinobido 2, Dynasty Warriors (Arbeitstitel), Project Gravity (Arbeitstitel) und Dragon’s Crown (sieht ein wenig nach Grand Knights History aus) vorgestellt:
